DONOR OPPORTUNITIES

Baldwin Trust

7 ways to establish an Endowment Fund

  1. Book Fund
A book fund honoring an individual, family, or organization can be endowed with a minimum donation of $10,000.  All items will be identified as having been acquired  by the endowment.  You may choose a specific area of support, such as large print books, classical compact discs, or picture books for children.
  2. Property
Gifts of cash, real estate, or other valuable property to the Library are deductible. Former gifts include furnishings for a specific area and special landscaping on the Library grounds.
  3. Bequest
By remembering Baldwin Public Library in your will you create a lasting memorial.  As in the book fund you may choose an area of support.
  4. Appreciated Securities
A gift of securities to the Baldwin Trust is entirely free of tax, no matter how much the value may have risen since you acquired them.
  5. Trust Arrangements
Charitable lead trusts offer the Library the income of an asset for a specified number of years.  Charitable remainder trusts are accomplished by the creation of annuity trust or a unitrust
  6. Life Insurance
Name the Baldwin Public Library as an owner and beneficiary of a life insurance policy.  It allows you to make a substantial gift.  The premium is tax deductible.
  7. Life Tenancy
Subject to your continuing use of the property for life, give the Library a home or farm and earn an income tax deduction.
