Our updated catalog is now available! With the new layout, you will notice that multiple formats for one title show up together in the results list, and you can choose which version of the item you would like to borrow from the tabs in one ‘row’. We hope that this layout provides a quicker and easier way to browse the results list!
Not quite ready to make the switch? You can choose the “Classic Catalog” option from the menu near the top left of the screen. Feedback is welcome at bplcirc@baldwinlib.org.

Teen Volunteers

Volunteer Applications Temporarily Closed

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Baldwin Public Library! We have received a high number of volunteer applications and are not accepting new volunteer requests at this time.

We expect to reopen the volunteer application once the 26-27 school year has begun. Please check back for updates.

Teen Volunteer Guide – please read before applying! [link opens in a new tab]

*NEW in 2025: Michigan’s Youth Employment Standards Act (YESA) [link opens in new tab] now mandates that any minors ages 14 to 17 must receive a work permit [link opens in new tab] to volunteer at the Baldwin Public Library. Minors under the age of 14 are not eligible for a work permit and are not legally allowed to volunteer. Any feedback about changes to this law should be directed to your Michigan State Representative [link opens in new tab].

Please email your completed work permit to elisabeth(dot)phou(at)baldwinlib(dot)org. This needs to be done before any volunteering can occur.

Here are other places that may accept teen volunteers.

Friends of the Baldwin Public Library

If you’re interested in supporting the Library in a different way, consider becoming a member of or volunteering with the Friends of the Baldwin Public Library. This group raises money to support Library events and programming, and helps organize used book sales throughout the year.
