*NEW in 2025: Michigan’s Youth Employment Standards Act (YESA) [link opens in new tab] now mandates that any minors ages 14 to 17 must receive a work permit [link opens in new tab] to volunteer at the Baldwin Public Library. Minors under the age of 14 are not eligible for a work permit and are not legally allowed to volunteer. Any feedback about changes to this law should be directed to your Michigan State Representative [link opens in new tab].
- Work Permit 14 and 15 years of age [link opens in new tab]

Please email your completed work permit to elisabeth(dot)phou(at)baldwinlib(dot)org. This needs to be done before any volunteering can occur.
Here are other places that may accept teen volunteers.
