Computer Classes

Our world is increasingly a digital one. If you’re having trouble keeping up — or just want to expand on what you already know — get up to speed with the computer classes at the Library. From basic skills to social-media tips and design programs, everything you need to thrive online is here.

All computer classes are in our first-floor computer lab and most require a basic understanding of computer functions and language. Registration is required and can be completed online via the links below, or by calling 248-554-4650.

 

EXCEL 2016: CREATING SPREADSHEETS

WEDNESDAYS, APRIL 11 & 18 AT 6:30 P.M.
$10. Learn the fundamentals of spreadsheet creation with Microsoft Excel in this two-session class. By the end of class, you won’t be intimidated by Excel. You’ll have created an exploding pie chart, line graph, as well as a personal budget for yourself. Register Here

 

BUILD A WEBSITE

THURSDAYS, APRIL 12, 19, & 26 AT 6:30 P.M.
$15. Whether it’s for your business or just for fun, make your best impression online with an attractive, highly functional website. By the end of the class, you’ll have designed and built a basic website that incorporates text, sound, images, hyperlinks, plug-ins, and social media interactivity. Register Here

 

ADVANCED EXCEL 2016: VLOOKUP AND PIVOT TABLES

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 25 AT 6:30 P.M.
$5. Explore more advanced features of Microsoft Excel 2016. Topics include creating Pivot Tables and using the VLOOKUP function. Register Here

 

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP: AN INTRODUCTION

WEDNESDAYS, MAY 2, 9, & 16 AT 6:30 P.M.
$15. This three-session class covers the basics of photo enhancement and manipulation using Photoshop CC & Photoshop Elements. Improve skin tone, whiten teeth, create a digital collage, and more. Register Here

TWITTER 101

FRIDAY, MAY 25 AT 2:30 P.M.
$5. Become a Twitter pro as we create an account, compose tweets, and connect with friends. By the end of class, you’ll have created a Twitter account, navigated Twitter’s interface, understand Twitter’s terminology, and posted your first Tweet. Register Here
