Computers, Printing, WiFi

Library Computers

During Level 4: Curbside Service, the public computers are not available for use, however, if you need access to a computer with internet you may check out one of our Internet to Go kits. Each kit contains an Acer Chromebook and a WiFi hotspot in a sturdy carrying case. Kits circulate for one week, with up to four renewals allowed unless there are holds. Kits are available to Baldwin Library cardholders as well as patrons with reciprocal borrowing privilege. Kits must be returned during the Library’s open hours.

Library WiFi

The public wireless network extends beyond the walls of the building. If you are on the steps outside the main entrance, or even on the sidewalk, you can probably still connect to our network. From your device’s network options select “BPL Wireless Network,” and open a browser. Accept our terms of use and you’ll be connected. The public WiFi network is available 24/7. For assistance connecting, contact Adult Services by phone at 248-554-4650 during the Library’s open hours.

Remote Printing

You may send print jobs to the Library’s printer from our website by following these steps:

  1. Click here to access our mobile print service.
  2. Once you’ve sent your job, please allow 15 minutes for your documents to appear in the print queue. Then call the Adult Services desk at 248-554-4650 or email us at adult.reference@baldwinlib.org. We will need the email address you used to send your jobs and your name.
You must contact us by 8:45 PM Mon-Thu, 5:15 PM Fri-Sat, and 4:45 PM on Sunday to release your print job. The print queue resets each night. If you send a job to the printer after the Library has closed for the day, we will not be able to release it, it will not remain in the print queue, and it will be lost.
  3. Black-and-white prints are $0.05/page, while color prints are $0.10/page. Fees will be assessed on the user’s Library account which may be paid online here.
  4. We will prepare the printed documents for pickup through our Curbside buy accutane online with prescription Pickup process. We will notify you when your documents are ready.

Scanning, Copying, and Faxing

If you need documents scanned, copied, or faxed we can assist you remotely if you follow these steps:

  1. Provide your documents to us. You may either email them to us, send them by postal mail to us, or put them in the exceptions return slot near the main entrance.

Email them to print@baldwinlib.org If depositing in the exceptions return slot, put your items in a sealed envelope with “ADULT SERVICES” written on the outside. Please note that delicate or fragile documents, such as photos, should NOT be deposited this way.

If sending by mail, address them like this:
    Baldwin Public Library
    Attn: ADULT SERVICES
    300 W. Merrill St.
    Birmingham, MI 48009

  2. Include with your documents a note with your name, phone number, and email address, and indicate which service(s) you are requesting (scanning, copying or faxing). Please print legibly.
If scanning: Should we scan in black and white or color?
If copying: Should we copy in black and white or color, do you need single or double-sided copies, how many copies do you need?
If faxing: What is the phone number to which we are sending the fax?
  3. Fees for these services are as follows:
  4. Scanning: free
  5. Copying: Black-and-white prints are $0.05/page, while color prints are $0.10/page.
  6. Faxing: $1.00 for the first page.
Fees will be assessed on the user’s Library account which may be paid online here.
  7. We will scan, copy or fax as needed, and prepare your original documents and any copies for pickup through our Curbside Pickup process. We will notify you when your documents are ready.
