Renew & View Items

Four renewals are permitted for all card holders on most materials. Hot Picks items and Launchpads cannot be renewed, nor can Youth Holiday and Battle items. Any item on hold for another patron is not available for renewal.  You may renew your library materials in person, by phone or online.

To renew during library hours by phone, call 248-647-1700, ext. 0. Please have your library card number ready when you call.  If you do not have your library card number, we can give only limited information about renewals.

To renew online, in either our classic catalog or our new catalog, see the instructions below.  You will need either your library card number or your alternate ID (Alt ID), plus your PIN.  If you do not know your PIN, either visit the library with your library card or valid photo ID, or call during library hours with your library card number.  To set up an Alt ID, please visit the library with your library card or valid photo ID.

You can also view your checkouts and holds at any time in either our classic catalog or our new catalog.  Our new catalog also displays your OverDrive checkouts and holds, as well as any fines owed on your account.  See below for instructions.
