Our Mission
The Baldwin Public Library in Birmingham, Michigan enriches lives by providing opportunities and resources for everyone to learn, connect, and discover.

Strategic Plan
On April 18, 2022, the Library Board approved the 2022-2025 Strategic Plan based on feedback from staff and the public. This new plan will help to guide the library in the future and creates long term goals to strengthen Baldwin’s standing in the community.

Board Officers and Members

Library Board
The Library Board of Directors is a six-member group elected by voters in Birmingham. The Board serves a four-year term, with three of the positions elected every two years in November. Day-to-day operations of the Library are overseen by the Director, Associate Director and staff.

Board roles include:
• Controlling the expenditures of all funds credited to the Library
• Adopting an annual budget for the Library
• Appointing a Library Director
• Setting policies regarding the use of the Library
• Ensuring that adequate funding is provided

Meeting Dates
The Baldwin Public Library Board meets the third Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m., except in January when the Board meets on the third Wednesday.  Each meeting is held as a hybrid meeting and can be attended in person in the Library’s lower level meeting room or virtually on Zoom.
